Together they have been making music since the mid 90s under various guises including Indigo Egg, Ishvara and Elve. Ishq’s music skirts between deep ambience, electronica and IDM with an emphasis on music as harmony. With Jacqueline’s sublime voice interwoven amidst Matt’s ambient arrangements, their sound is instantly recognizable, otherworldly and often indescribable. As one of the world’s foremost ambient artists, Ishq’s music carries a beautiful and mesmerizing quality that inspires both the mind and the heart in a very rare way.

With a debut release on Interchill Records titled Orchid in 2004, the Ishq sound quickly became known to electronica aficionados around the world and their music soon began to appear on other labels such as Dakini Records (Japan), Electronic Soundscapes (Greece) and Aleph Zero (Israel). Ishq’s second full length album Sama recently came out on Electronic Soundscapes and their third album finds them reunited with Interchill for And Awake. A fourth album, the sequel to And Awake, is currently being planned for 2012.

Based in Cornwall, UK, Matt and Jacqueline also run Virtual a limited edition CD label which releases their more experimental soundscape music and other studio works. The Virtual catalogue to date includes Timelapse In Mercury, Fluid Earth, Skyspaces and Lotus.
