- So, what’s this site all about?
- Glad you asked, because we don’t know either! Actually, this site grew out of a project one of the members of TheZCompany.com had to listen to podcasts at work when iTunes wasn’t available. The old design and interface were pretty clunky but they worked, so we recently jazzed it up a bit. The premise is still the same: BDJP is an online podcatcher of the best dj podcasts we can find.
- Who decides which are the best podcasts?
- Stop asking such hard questions! We do. We listen to just about every podcast that’s sent our way. A headbob gives it an OK. A fist pump goes on the site right away. In the future we may let the community of people that actually come on this site have a say somehow, our magic 8-Ball keeps refusing to answer though if we will.
- How do I get my podcast on this amazingly awesome site!?
- Oh, you flatter us so! It’s pretty easy, just click on submit a podcast and fill out the form. We’ll listen to it, we really will. Some of the requirements though for us to aggregate the podcast are:
- The podcast must have an RSS/XML feed. There are plenty of sites that can help you make this happen (feedburner, podomatic, etc).
- Must be an active podcast. We take a look at our feeds and if it’s been 6 months since your last podcast, we’ll remove the link to aggregate as we’ll just assume it’s been deadpooled.
- Must be GOOD! Please, don’t send us a podcast of your little brother that’s still learning to beatmatch. Trainwrecks are no good for the ears. Mixing skills and track selection matter to us and they should matter to you too!
- We’ll need a little bio and image so we can make our site look pretty and you look good.
- How do I remove my podcast/image/stupid comment from this site?
- Why in the world would you want to deprive millions – ok thousands, ok like five people - access to your amazing artistic work? Some of us on the team are actually bedroom djs, musicians and artists so we get it if you want to promote your amazing work all over the place (like here) but we know some people may not want to, or can’t. In that case, you have some options. You can email us at bdjp@bestdjpodcasts.com or if that doesn’t work for some reason (like our email server fries) fill out the submit a podcast form and tell us what you’d like removed and why and we’ll be saddened (your stuff is just so good!) but we’ll oblige.
- How do I get a job at your awesome company!?
- Send large amounts of cash to our office. You may not get a job, but you’ll be funding our company! Just head over to TheZCompany.com and see if we’re hiring or just drop us a kind email, you never know.
